we had a demonstration as to how we should say the pledge [right fist on left chest] and how we were to receive our stuff [a cert and I/Cs for those who are of age] later. we even had to pose for the camera. gah...the horror. i wasn't in my best-looking state,but i guessed i would do.. amazingly,i saw my neighbours there on the same row of seats... the live on the same floor,just a measly 4 houses away. 50strides away,at the most. the ceiling of the Nee Soon East CC where they held the ceremony.. as if we havent already learnt this stuff in school during social studies... the G.O.H., Assoc Prof Ho Peng Kee,gave a speech and them gave out out stuff. he's got nicknames for some of the kids when they posed for the photos.. "future soccer star!" "singapore idol!" he ejaculated,smiling and laughing racously at his jokes. i could only smile weakly at some of them. i went on stage soon after,all rigid but trying to do my best. i walked w/out slouching, had a plastic smile on my face, and muttered a polite "thank you" when he congratulated me. the plastic smile was still stuck until after the photo shoot where i hurried to get off stage,doing it in a UG style. God,i almost marched off stage! [i was rather good at this sort of stuff.. i just have to feign interest and smile,like i always do. but i do believe UG had contributed to some of the stage-rigidness. must be the nerves...] afterward,we needed to say the pledge and sing the national anthem.. i was reminded of last year's school NDP celebration where i was flag-bearer. how i missed those days... under her seemingly ardent and persistant 'pleas',i filled in one of the forms from the pile in her hand in good grace. seems to be the only way to get her off my back,the old bag.. anyway,this meant i no longer had to rely on others to help me borrow books or lend me their cards anymore. so in a sense,i was doing both the lady and my peers some good. i've finally finished reading these 2 books! i hope i can find book 3,if that is already out.. it seems i was right that Bliss is Schuyler's sister,the other daughter of Allegra Van Alen. sometimes,these things are just so invisible,so predictable,so expected. i have once again fallen in love with vampire stories,and now i love them more than ever. Melissa De la Cruz the clouds in the sky are just darling today... such wonderful shapes in the clouds... i bet i could watch the skies all day and night and never get bored of it ever.... my life, my sins...
that's it! i'm officially singaporean! [with the singapore attitude of non-stop complaints,whining,and kiasu-ness! no offence,seriously..]friday's night sky was marvellous. look at the moon outside,above my window :]

the stage where we will go on to receive our certs and I/Cs if we have them...
we then watched videos abt welcoming us to singapore,and some parts about the history of singapore.the booklet in which hold the SS stuff abt singapore... look at the elaborate words on the cover..so flowery. it looks like a cloud,trying to obscure the "bad" things about singapore.. [once again,no offence to anyone...]
the amount of stuff they put in the bag was ludicrous. so many pamphlets,so many magazines for the various districts in the NorthWest CDC... imagine the amount of paper wasted.... there were about 200 of us at the ceremony getting our citizenship..
the ceremony ended on a good note. a lady promted me to be a member of the library during the buffet after the ceremony,where everyone was ushered out to the foyaré where a buffet was served. they had halal food and vegetarian food served. how thoughtful.

oh gosh. sambal chili and mango pudding eat together? koonie,are you trying to get ppl into trouble here...?
maths and english breezed past the day,only to end horrendously with physics..
we did a skill 3 write-up practice.
i dont even understand what is considered the 'correct' way to put together a logical experiment!
it was "to investigate how the size of a piece of paper affects the rate it falls"
something similar,anyway.
my instructions had no need for diagrams to be drawn and our dear mrs yeo threw me skeptical looks when i wanted to explain. what can i say,then?
i loathe physics.bought fries with esther and meiyen. dorothy didnt want any..home-d with them! finally,after so long,this is like,the first monday to be allowed home so early!the esctasy in that piece of information was rather over whelming for me...we ate on the bus,and esther and meiyen got headaches... poor dears..it was raining outside,though... so maybe the rain caused it..? [zijing was thankful she didnt get it. she's extremely worried about her neurotic checkup 2 weeks later...] anyway,zijing tied her rubbish into this:

there were too many patients and zijing didnt get her acupuncture. her poor knees....

studied physics during maths [sorry,mr tan!] anyway,he saw,and was like "you will get numb from all the exams...blahblah..." got some tips from 4/1 and so we knew what was tested,but i can only HOPE for a pass...

UG Commissioning Ceremony,18Apr2008
4/20/2008 05:13:00 pmthis will be a super long post so if you on have the patience please leave.because i might drone on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on and on........ friday was the UG Commissioning Ceremony.this means,that after the ceremony,WE HAVE OFFICIALLY STEP DOWN!i feel the nostalgia all around.on one hand,i'm just relieved that i now have more time for my studies,but i really miss all my dear sweet juniors!!! backtracking..... wednesdaype lesson i did something stupid during the training for the napfa tests...i used the standing board jump mat for long jump... and totally wore the wrong the shoes....as expected,i fell. on my knees.i did have hell to pay for... my knees hurt and were groaning at me to let them rest but i couldn't. not when friday was the ceremony...they were,of course,going to let me pay for it. thursdaythe much awaited 2.4km day.we took class photo before the 2.4.and we [me and chuping] have flag training afterward.2.4...... i wanted to get it over and done with as soon as possible.my knees were hurting from old injury [the one i got a year back during my posting camp]i ran anyway.esther was rather worried and infuriated at me,but i let it pass.i wont let her talk me out of it.pulled meixin for the run. we both did great!meixin,dont be sad! we can do it!in the end,we only had flag training for about 1 and a 1/2hour.we were kinda slacking but who cares!? friday the day has come.i was so worried the whole morning.this had been a day of turmoil.morning-fall in,and due to the rain there was a beautiful rainbow.what a beautiful ending to our sec4 guiding/UG life.choinged for class later.maths.chem test.recess.chinese.geog test.ceremony rehearsal.ceremony.had to wait so long for the principal la. my knees protested again.i got major cock-up during the ceremony!!! oh God. i was never going to forgive myself.after the ceremony,it was the seniors and the upper studies time to have a buffet.so interesting.mendi did a dance la. so super cute de lor. photo frenzy again!!! guides room.....
