underneath the stars

"Before you, my life was like a moonless night. Very dark, but there were stars-points of light and reason... And then you shot across my sky like a meteor. Suddenly everything was on fire; there was brilliancy, there was beauty. When you were gone, when the meteor had fallen over the horizon, everything went black. Nothing had changed, but my eyes were blinded by the light. I couldn't see the stars anymore, and there was no more reason for anything."

lol..

lol. 50th post dedicated to this. ah~ heck.
gah. i am so screwed for maths. today was okay, save for the terrifying CT scan.
speaking of CT scans,i am NEVER, i repeat,NEVER,going through that again!
it's just super scary!

since she had no need to go to school today, zijing had stayed up till 4.12am to make cards/presents [you were not supposed to know about this, ****** and ********. cannot say name though they will know i am making for them since their b'dae is coming...]
anyway, she had used the leftover paper to make patterns on the floor.
real lame, actually. then again, zijing isn't zijing if she doesn't do silly things.

patterns~~

one of the card/present...

i love the roses inside..

the clouds today look marvellous as well...

okay. so she woke up at 6++ intending to call the school. she had fallen back asleep [2hours was not enough, after all] she fully awoke to a delicious breakfast at 8+ in the morning, before finally getting ready and leaving the house at 9am.
she and mama had reached TTSH's NNI [Neuro *something* Institution] at 9.32am
got my number, sat and waited, and saw the doctor. she asked many questions, then,
she did some tests on me:
1. BP [blood pressure] test
2. look at the picture on the wall, then she shone light into my eyes
3. open mouth and shine light inside
4. take off specs and follow her finger
5. hold hands in front of self and close eyes
i had no idea how i fared but she said mine is tension headache [so i should feel less tension now that i know it's actually not migraine or anything serious?]
anyway, she asked mama if she wanted me to take a CT scan and mama agreed to it.

doctor fees cost $80 but got government subsidy of $55.
that's why singaporean is good, got some subsidies. if i were still a PR when i went for today's thing, i would've needed to pay full cost. not that i am the one paying,of course, but still.
the CT scan was just super scary.
i'd always had a fear for needles, and they stuck 2 in me while i took the scan.
we paid $117 at the counter first before proceeding to another waiting hall.
my name was called, and i entered this room with this circular machine with this thing for you to lie down in front of it.
the nurses had to explain that since i was underage, mama had to sign her consent.
i had to explain to mama about the consent thing and that they were going to give me an injection before the scan.
i was sure i had explained properly but mama had asked the nurse to confirm again in malay [the nurse is malay and mama does not understand english, and the explaination was done in english to me.]
the nurse,ms siti, was laughing in relief. "oh,then you never say.. then i could have explained in malay what.."
oops,my bad.
anyway, after the explainations and all, they asked me questions:
1. do you have asthma, diabetes or any drug allergy? no,dont think so
2. when is the first day of your most recent menses? err..cant remember...about 2 weeks ago...
3. are you currently pregnant? oh,please. of course not.

mama had to be asked out before the scan, not that i had seen her leave but she wasn't allowed there somehow, cos she was outside when i left.
and so they got me to take off my specs and put this blue shower cap thingy on my head and told me to lie down [with shoes off] on the bed thingy.
the doctor threw a towel-like blue blanket over my body and told me to take out my right hand. i did as told.
he then fastened some velcro thing on to my arm and told me to clench my fist.
he then kept tapping at my hand using 2 fingers and stuck a needle in my hand-my vein.
i felt a sensation in my hand and the needle was removed, and something dripped onto my hand. [mama reckons they took a sample of my plasma]
anyway,he put one of those bio- scotch tapes and put one on my hand.
the nurse then came out and fastened the velcro thing on my left arm [it had been removed form my right arm] and told me to exercice my hand, clenching and opening it quickly.
she then stuck a needle in me,putting the bio- tape on my wrist where she had inserted the needle [or was it some small tube?] to secure in before inserting something into the needle-thingy and taping that securely. i hadn't winced one but i was scared to bits. they then manuverued the bed thing into the circular thing from a room and i had smiled cos i heard music. ms siti had seen my expression and expressed her concern over my smile and i had properly explained.

there was a trail scan [or so i think, cos ony 1 part of the machine was just turning] before ma siti came and injected the medication into my wrist. i was already hyperventilating by the time the machine was turned on and when the medication was injected,i felt this numb feeling in my chest. either it was the nerves, or it was the medication. i want to believe that it was the medicine making it's rounds in my body, thank you. they removed the needles and put plasters on my hands, applying pressure [as we have learnt in First Aid lessons, pressure stops bloodflow]
anyway, the scan was over super-fast,and i got out as soon as i can after thanking the staff [i doubt they heard me,but still.]

my right hand and left wrist..in the plaster..

the plasters when removed... i could have asked for a hair-removal treatment! it was so much less painful... look at the hairs on the plasters,man..my skin had 2 different shades when i removed the plasters lor. and my vein [right hand] actually got bruised and was swelling! mama says she had the same when she first did accupuncture. lol. nothing happened to me during accupuncture leh,but for this....

mama used a hot wet towel to try and remove the bruise. it worked-to an extent. at least my hand doesnt hurt when i swing it now, like it had in the afternoon. but my vein was still bruised, and that wasn't the best thing that happened..

i still have to go back on 6th June to get my scan results, which means i'll miss lessons again... sigh. lidat how to catch up?
